I am going to Shanghai for business, so I only have two days of my own. I wanna see the elite attractions of the region.
Shanghai is a metropolis indeed, resembling New York.
Different from Shanghai, the ancient water towns take on a classical Chinese style have won high reputation from lots of visitors. And all towns are so small that you can stroll up in 1 day, Wuzhen, Mudu, Zhouzhuang, Tongli are in the neineighborhood of Shanghai , I’m sure you will be fascinated by the elegant scenery.
This is the video from just the Shanghai portion of our trip to China. Augusta State University study abroad program for International Business.

I am planning to go Shanghai for business trip on the 9th of January and i plan to do some roaming. The problem with Shanghai is that there is no heater or such and it’s really a need to buy lots of sweaters to cope with the cold. So i need advise as to whether is it too cold to even walk around to do some exploration?
You’ll need to wear a little more perhaps, but be thankful you’re not here in Harbin. It’s so cold up here in the north my pants must wear pants.
Layers on layers.
As I hear, Shanghai isn’t so cold, I’d bring some extra clothes, and if you find it’s not enough, buy some more there. Going to China I’ll assume you can afford a little clothing money there.
Enjoy yourself there, China is a magical place.

i’m doing chinese art for my O.C.R art exam but i don’t no any artist who does what i’m doing i’m looking for staff like this
http://www.apomaytaart.com/gallery/easternart-animals-flowers-birds.htm
can you help me?
Van Gogh and a few other impressionist and post impressionists had a brief flirtation with eastern art as it first arrived in europe. In fact Van Gogh painted several eastern themed/styled paintings his most notable and beautiful being Almond Orchard.
Checking out these paintings on the net or indeed in a Van Gogh book would help you understand chinesse art and the way western art used and adapted it.
Good luck

According to my Turkish-Chinese neighbour, Achmed Chang.
I am a buddhist and was an art student. There are a few statues and pictures of what is called the laughing Buddha in Chinese art, was that supposed to be the real Siddhartha – the historical Buddha or another Buddha, since we all have the potential to be a Buddha through our own Buddha Nature?
The historical Buddha, Siddharta Gautama, is never depicted as a fat man, but as a perfectly proportioned man with the 112 so called "major and minor marks of a buddha": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_characteristics_of_the_Buddha
The popular fat so called "laughing Buddha" in China is in fact a Chinese folkloristic deity called Budai, sometimes identified with the "future buddha", Maitreya, although normally all buddhas are depicted with the perfectly proportioned body and the physical marks of a buddha mentioned above.
I will take an individual travel in shanghai with my friends, but I have no idea where to stay. Is there any recommended hotels and suggested attractions in shanghai for us to travel.
Hi! I recommend the The Best Western Shanghai Ruite Hotel, where I stayed during my business travel in shanghai. The hotel made a good impression on me. The Best Western Shanghai Ruite Hotel is a member of Best Western International, the World’s largest Hotel Chain. It has convenient transportation, offering the ideal access to Shanghai Hong Qiao International Airport (10 km) and Pudong International Airport (60 km). Also, the special windows in the guest rooms offer you good view for enjoying the night life of Shanghai. It would be a very nice choice for your friends and you. Another hotel that my roommate recommended is a unique one, called Shanghai New-westlake Hotel. This is the hotel that she stayed during her travel in Shanghai, and the hotel features classical and elegant style architecture. Located near the downtown street, Shanghai New-westlake Hotel offers easy access to Pudong International Airport (PVG.) in 48 km, Shanghai Hong Qiao International Airport (SHA) in 12 km and Shanghai Railway Station in 5 km. I have heard a nice hotel from my friend but I did have the experience staying there. The hotel is called Sofitel Hyland Shanghai. For its location, the hotel is only 17 km from Hong Qiao International Airport and 47 km from Pudong International Airport. It sounds a good choice. You may refer to the link:

If you want go shooing, the hotels mentioned above are near Nanjing road, the famous walking street for shopping and sightseeing, and have easy access to numerous tourist attractions, such as the Bund, People’s Square and Shanghai Museum and so on.
As for touring sights, you may visit:
